Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Chefs hired without a degree have 5 years to complete a Bachelors degree
  • Knowledge of dietetics required
  • Previous supervision of 12 or more staff members
  • At least three years of progressive culinary and kitchen management experience preferred
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required within 90 days of job entry

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality, well-balanced, cost-effective meals
  • Supervise daily operations of food production and service throughout the hospital
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, HACCP standards, and local, state, and federal laws
  • Motivate and maintain an engaged culinary team of 12 or more staff members
  • Represent Baptist Health South Florida at community, marketing, and public relations events
  • Oversee adherence to food safety protocols including obtaining Food Safety Manager Certification
  • Manage meal planning in accordance with dietetic principles and patient nutritional needs
