Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Chefs hired without a degree have 5 years to complete a Bachelor degree
  • Knowledge of dietetics required
  • Previous supervision of 12 or more staff members required
  • At least three years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience preferred
  • Hospital, healthcare, or catering experience a plus
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required within 90 days of job entry

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality, well-balanced, and cost-effective meals
  • Supervise daily operations of food production and service throughout the hospital
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, HACCP standards, AHCA, and all applicable laws
  • Motivate and lead a team of 12 or more culinary staff members
  • Collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to meet patient dietary needs
  • Maintain food safety standards and obtain Food Safety Manager Certification within the required timeframe
  • Represent Baptist Health South Florida at community, marketing, and public relations events
