Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree or related work experience
- minimum five years event management experience
- supervisory experience preferred
- experience with event database or registration systems
- willing and able to travel extensively including weekends and holidays
- proven customer service experience
- strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- sport event experience a plus
- experience with USOPC/NGB/RVA structures a plus
- must pass USAV background check
- must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire and keep current
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Event Management, Sports Management, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- minimum five years experience in event management
- supervisory experience preferred
- experience with event or registration database systems
- willingness and ability to travel extensively including weekends and holidays
- proven track record in delivering exceptional customer service and stakeholder satisfaction
- strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- sport event experience, especially in indoor volleyball, is a plus
- experience with USOPC, National Governing Body, or Regional Volleyball Association structures is advantageous
- successful completion of USAV background screening
- completion and maintenance of SafeSport training as a condition of employment.
Job Duties
- Supervise direct reports, communicate job expectations, and conduct annual performance reviews
- prepare, execute, and monitor assigned event budgets by tracking expenditures and analyzing variances
- serve as Tournament Director managing all pre-event and on-site operational decision-making for assigned national events
- collaborate with internal departments to enhance event promotion, experience, and safety
- evaluate and approve operational plans and post-event reports for continuous improvement
- act as primary contact for sponsors and vendors and ensure in-venue promotions are executed
- identify, contract, and manage independent contractors ensuring service deliverables meet contractual terms
- manage customer service for event inquiries
- coordinate with warehouse operations for event materials preparation and distribution
- maintain relationships with hotels and housing companies for assigned events
- forecast and procure Value-In-Kind inventory and awards for events
- update and manage Championship Manuals for assigned events
- work with regional assemblies to enhance event quality
- assist recruiting services with player information for college recruitment
- manage RFP processes for service providers ensuring cost-effective and compliant solutions
- oversee contracted service providers onsite to ensure quality and safety
- lead operational initiatives including inventory, awards, logistics, and bid distribution
- enforce Stay & Play hotel booking policies
- recommend enhancements for the event registration system
- perform other duties as assigned.
