Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement and evaluate department operations
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise work of others
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant event management experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Ability to manage and evaluate department operations
  • Ability to establish department goals aligned with strategic plans
  • Effective planning, delegation and supervision skills
  • Strong leadership, motivation, development and training skills

Job Duties

  • Manage and support development and alumni relations related events
  • Create and manage timelines, checklists, budgets, staffing and logistics for each event
  • Direct event activities from inception to completion
  • Develop strategies, budgets and objectives for events
  • Develop and enhance invitation databases and printed materials
  • Negotiate with external vendors and manage bidding processes
  • Manage special event committees including goal setting and meeting facilitation
  • Oversee and train staff working at events
  • Design event sequences and programs
  • Create and reconcile event budgets
  • Ensure expenditures do not exceed budgeted levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned
