Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to direct, manage, implement and evaluate department operations
- Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
- Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise work of others
- Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant event management experience
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Ability to manage and evaluate department operations
- Ability to establish department goals aligned with strategic plans
- Effective planning, delegation and supervision skills
- Strong leadership, motivation, development and training skills
Job Duties
- Manage and support development and alumni relations related events
- Create and manage timelines, checklists, budgets, staffing and logistics for each event
- Direct event activities from inception to completion
- Develop strategies, budgets and objectives for events
- Develop and enhance invitation databases and printed materials
- Negotiate with external vendors and manage bidding processes
- Manage special event committees including goal setting and meeting facilitation
- Oversee and train staff working at events
- Design event sequences and programs
- Create and reconcile event budgets
- Ensure expenditures do not exceed budgeted levels
- Perform other duties as assigned
