Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of events related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clientele from student groups to professional event planners
  • Ability to manage teams of employees in the execution of events
  • Ability to work nights as this is an evening based position
  • Must be able to lift, move, carry heavy objects
  • Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 10:00pm and weekends, mornings as needed with special events

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of event-related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clientele including student groups and professional event planners
  • Ability to manage teams of employees in event execution
  • Ability to work evenings
  • Two years of event coordinating experience preferred
  • Three years of customer service preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and customer support in the planning and execution of UCEN event facilities
  • Work with clients throughout the event planning process including event conception
  • Schedule space, equipment and staff and complete proper paperwork
  • Make arrangements for rental equipment as needed
  • Ensure facility expectations are maintained and paperwork completed
  • Take steps to understand all event and audience needs
  • Confirm timelines and security expectations
  • Arrange special requests
  • Design event diagrams or CAD drawings
  • Work with sponsors or sponsoring agencies on event planning details
  • Develop, manage and maintain facility and event calendars for multiple campus venues
  • Communicate organizational information to management, coordinators, setup crews and student leaders
  • Represent the unit and department on various committees and task forces
  • Oversee staff responsible for delivery, setup, execution and removal of special event equipment
  • Provide training and feedback to staff
  • Establish clear event expectations for support and technical staff
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum, manuals and job skill tests
  • Coordinate new student employee training
  • Assist with concessions process, expressive activity events and risk review
  • Perform other duties as assigned
