Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years experience in event management or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
- At least 1 year experience in event management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site at The Westin Pittsburgh
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Capability to lead teams and manage event logistics
- Problem-solving and operational challenge resolution skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years event management experience
- OR 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related field with at least 1 year event management experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
- Customer service excellence and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership experience in managing event teams
- Knowledge of event management trends and hotel operations
- Proficiency in coordinating complex event logistics
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments
- Ensure seamless event progression by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
- Greet customers during events and transition to operations team
- Manage billing accuracy and review final bills with clients
- Oversee group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups
- Identify and resolve operational challenges with property staff and customers
- Act as liaison between sales and customers throughout event phases
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist sales process
- Deliver exceptional customer service and empower employees to do the same
- Coordinate and communicate event details verbally and in writing
- Oversee customer experiences from file turnover to post-event
- Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest complaints
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Assist sales with forecasting and up-selling products and services
- Review guest satisfaction results and provide employee feedback
- Implement corrective action plans and improve service performance
- Solicit feedback to enhance event planner experience
- Perform additional duties to meet business needs
