Job Requirements

  • Must possess a degree in culinary services or eight years of directly related experience
  • Five years of experience managing and executing catering events
  • Certified Food Manager or ServSafe certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and pass driving background check
  • Ability to stand and move for entire shifts
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to supervise events from creation to completion
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in culinary services or eight years of directly related experience
  • Five years of experience managing and executing catering events
  • Certified Food Manager or ServSafe certified within 30 days of hire
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of production and menu development
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing food for catered events and cafe services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to supervise events from creation to completion
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues as part of a team
  • Attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Direct and coordinate food or beverage for catering operations districtwide
  • Review upcoming catering orders
  • Keep labor hours in line with workload
  • Perform final check on all catering events
  • Conduct training for personnel
  • Direct and/or set up for catering events from simple to elegant
  • Support cafe as manager when needed
  • Monitor worker performance
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns
  • Maintain weekly and monthly catering revenue
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values
