Job Requirements
- Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, or a related field
- relevant experience in budgeting, accounting, or management analysis
- knowledge of relevant federal, state and local regulations
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- skills in using relevant software tools for budgeting and financial analysis
- experience working in a government or public agency environment preferred
- ability to supervise staff and manage projects
- valid driver’s license

- Experience with enterprise budgeting and accounting
- knowledge of federal, state, and local grant funding principles and compliance requirements
- strong written communication ability
- self-motivated and independent thinker with solid accounting and analytical skills
- excellent attention to detail
- ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- comfortable working on a wide range of assignments in an environment of frequently changing priorities
Job Duties
- May supervise clerical or support staff to include prioritizing and assigning work
- conducting performance evaluations
- ensuring staff are trained
- making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations
- provides professional-level staff assistance and preliminary analysis of routine policies involving organization, procedures, finance and/or services
- manages special division level studies and projects, which includes setting up contracts
- establishing and monitoring timelines
- preparing requests for proposals
- selecting consultants
- ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, specifications, and/or requirements
- monitoring project budgets
- tracking projects
- preparing related reports
- performing other related duties
- may serve as a project lead and provides direction to lower level staff on assignments
- assists with budget preparation and administration
- assists departments in preparing cost estimates for budget recommendations
- administers grant funding, including preparation of reimbursement requests (drawdowns), maintenance of financial records, and coordination of grant audits to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements
- manages airport lease agreements to ensure compliance with GASB 87 standards, including tracking, classification, and financial reporting requirements
