Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts or related certification
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Chef or Sous Chef
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a cook
  • Supervisory experience in high-volume food production
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to train and motivate team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to give constructive feedback
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift and move items over 25 pounds
  • Ability to work over 55 hours per week with rotating shifts
  • Must complete all required company training including ServSafe
  • Compliance with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts or certification preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Chef or Sous Chef
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a cook
  • Previous supervisory experience in high-volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering preferred
  • Experience in in-flight catering or high-volume food service preferred
  • Ability to cook meals to specification
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Effective time management and multitasking
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Innovative with ability to improve work environment and unit performance
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office knowledge preferred
  • ServSafe Certified preferred
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Assist in designing and preparing meals for airline customers
  • Provide culinary expertise and leadership
  • Promote quality food services and ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
  • Drive food production efforts with Food Supervisors
  • Supervise department for quality and quantity
  • Ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, HAACP regulations
  • Manage attendance, scheduling, and shift assignments
  • Order raw materials from storeroom and manage extra meal production
  • Prepare daily production sheets and assign tasks
  • Train employees on preparation procedures
  • Maintain safety procedures and cleanliness
  • Manage hot and cold kitchen production for quality and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with Wage and Hour policies including breaks
  • Coach, counsel, and prepare corrective actions
  • Review cost centers and pay rates for accuracy
  • Complete company-required training including ServSafe
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
