Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years full-service restaurant Maitre D experience or equivalent
  • Strong mathematic skills
  • Ability to master menu, specials, wine list, liquor list and specialty drinks
  • Knowledge of liquor liability laws
  • Familiarity with restaurant layout including table numbers and station numbers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to train and lead host staff
  • Outgoing and warm personality
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in guest interactions
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat guests for the dining room
  • Oversee dining room operations and act as goodwill ambassador to guests
  • Anticipate needs of scheduled special parties
  • Communicate seating needs to service, bus and other host staff
  • Complete all assigned side work
  • Master the restaurant's computer register system
  • Perform comp and void procedures on the register
  • Conduct server readings on the register according to SOP
  • Verify completion of server and busser side work
  • Train and educate host staff in standing operating procedures
  • Assign service staff workstations as requested
