Job Requirements
- Formal or informal education or training that ensures ability to read and write
- One year of experience in labor or maintenance
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License, except for specific departments
- Ability to pass department-specific background checks
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
- Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
- Ability to read and write English
- Basic knowledge of manual labor tasks
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment
- Physical fitness to perform manual labor
Job Duties
- Utilizes maintenance equipment to perform maintenance duties such as sweeping, mowing, and trimming
- Cleans, repairs, and replaces equipment at City parks and facilities
- Prepares City facilities for various City events
- Participates in construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, City buildings, and facilities
- Inspects equipment and reports maintenance or repair needs
- Operates tractor mower, dump truck, and small equipment
- Loads trucks with materials weighing up to 50 pounds
