Job Requirements

  • Three months in maintenance or closely related experience
  • possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License
  • ability to obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area access
  • ability to obtain and maintain airfield driving privileges
  • must be able to perform rotational shift work including holidays, weekends, and emergencies
  • ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • must be able to follow directives and communicate clearly with coworkers
  • ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs for extended periods
  • adhere to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • must be able to interact courteously with public and employees
  • pass background checks for security access

Job Qualifications

  • Three months of maintenance or closely related experience
  • valid Florida Class E Driver's License
  • ability to obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) access
  • ability to obtain and maintain airfield driving privileges
  • knowledge of safety directives and the ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to operate hand and power tools
  • ability to perform physical labor including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • skills in using computerized maintenance management systems
  • ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • preferred certifications include FDOT Flagger Certification, Maintenance of Traffic Certification, forklift and aerial lift training
  • preferred experience in building maintenance, grounds maintenance, fence installation and repair, and airfield driving

Job Duties

  • Maintains grounds and landscape areas to ensure they are presentable, clean, and safe
  • patch asphalt and install or mend fences
  • perform runway, taxiway, and roadway repairs
  • use hand and power tools and assist trades and other Airport employees
  • remove and install signage throughout the Airport campus
  • perform facility maintenance work to ensure a clean, safe environment
  • clean offices, restrooms, halls, sidewalks, and other areas
  • set out temporary traffic control devices at work sites
  • utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System software to document work activities
  • maintain landscape and construction related equipment
  • perform related work as assigned
  • work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • operate electronic handheld devices
  • follow safety directives
  • stand and walk for extended periods
  • perform light janitorial work
  • work all available shifts in a 24/7 environment
  • adhere to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • interact courteously with the public, vendors, contractors, and employees
  • work in various physical environments including airfield and terminals
