Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience as industrial mechanic and/or electrician
  • ability to read and comprehend safety rules and procedure manuals
  • effective communication skills
  • basic math skills including fractions and percentages
  • problem-solving abilities
  • forklift driving capability
  • experience using power tools
  • physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds
  • willingness to comply with safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment
  • ability to work around moving machinery and exposure to chemicals and extreme temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year experience as Industrial Mechanic and/or Electrician
  • ability to read and comprehend safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • effective communication skills for small group interaction
  • ability to calculate fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • problem-solving skills with ability to handle multiple variables
  • capable of operating a forklift and power tools
  • knowledge of lock-out/tag-out safety procedures
  • understanding of Quality and Environmental Management Systems
  • ability to follow OSHA safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Safely perform emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure
  • respond to production supervisor during unplanned production line breakdowns
  • utilize manpower and equipment to complete repairs timely
  • clean maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed
  • use company equipment and tools safely and prudently
  • apply lock-out/tag-out procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and communicate replenishment needs
  • utilize Work Order system to enter and complete work orders
  • report to Maintenance Leadman or Production Supervisor during off-shifts and weekends
  • comply with Quality and Environmental Management System principles
  • communicate daily with Production and Quality Control personnel to resolve problems
  • follow Spill Response, Log and Report Procedure in event of spills
  • recycle non-contaminated paper, metals, oils, and cardboard
