Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of hospital experience preferred
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems
  • proficiency in using power and hand tools safely
  • understanding of safety protocols and procedures
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, moving, and handling supplies

Job Qualifications

  • one year hospital experience preferred
  • ability to work independently with only routine supervision
  • working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems
  • safe use and thorough knowledge of power tools, hand tools and equipment
  • knowledge and observance of safety precautions

Job Duties

  • perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the engineering department
  • assist in maintaining HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas
  • perform urgent, corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of minor problems with electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required
  • notify supervisor if major repairs are required
  • perform maintenance on equipment and systems as required
  • maintain facilities and equipment according to state, federal and local regulatory requirements
  • assist in replacing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required
  • maintain routine records of all inspections, maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system
  • perform manual duties as requested such as moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material
  • complete preventive maintenance within scheduled intervals on a continuous basis to ensure the continued operation of the facility
