Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in hotel or similar facility maintenance
- Technical certifications such as HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training preferred
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders
- Good communication skills
- Availability for on-call duty and flexible scheduling
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as elevators and fire safety equipment
- Skills in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules
- Ability to diagnose and repair issues promptly across a variety of hotel systems
- Understanding energy-efficient practices and systems
- Certifications like HVAC Technician, Electrician License, or OSHA safety training are often required or preferred
- Quick thinking and calm under pressure when responding to emergencies
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments such as housekeeping and front desk
- Skills in liaising with external contractors and service providers
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance
- Ability to document maintenance schedules, inspections, and compliance certifications accurately
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Awareness of how maintenance activities impact guests and ability to minimize disruptions
- Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Willingness to adapt to irregular hours including nights, weekends, and on-call situations
Job Duties
- Oversee routine maintenance and emergency repairs for hotel equipment, systems, and infrastructure
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment
- Ensure all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, are in excellent condition
- Maintain compliance with brand standards for property upkeep and appearance
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including fire safety and building codes
- Perform regular safety inspections and maintain records of certifications and inspections
- Monitor and manage energy consumption to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Respond to and resolve emergencies such as power outages, plumbing failures, or HVAC issues to minimize guest impact
- Develop and implement contingency plans for major breakdowns or disasters
- Work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and food and beverage teams to address maintenance needs promptly and support guest satisfaction
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and expenses
- Report regularly to the General Manager on maintenance activities, issues, and improvements
