Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid HVAC certification
- Proven experience in HVAC troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to safely operate Freon Recovery Unit
- Experience with electrical repairs
- Proficiency in plumbing and appliance repair
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and rotating on-call schedule
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Reliable personal transportation and own tools
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Compliance with Fair Housing laws
- Ability to follow safe workplace practices
Job Qualifications
- Valid HVAC certification
- Experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system maintenance
- Proficiency in electrical system repairs
- Experience in plumbing repairs and appliance maintenance
- Ability to perform minor carpentry and flooring installation
- Certification in pool chemical operation (CPO) preferred
- Ability to safely handle chemicals
- Valid driver’s license
- Good driving record
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and on-call
- Strong teamwork and decision-making abilities
Job Duties
- Maintaining the Mahaffey Hospitality reputation by being polite and professional and promoting good public relations among the residents, non-residents, staff and management
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing air conditioning and heating systems including electrical systems, compressors, coils and operating the Freon Recovery Unit while maintaining logs
- Replacing electrical wiring, breakers, switches, relays, contractors, outlets, coaxial, and lighting
- Repairing gutters, downspouts, ridge vents including work inside attic areas
- Repairing plumbing fixtures such as drain lines, toilets, faucets, water lines, garbage disposals, sinks, traps, water heaters, and life stations
- Repairing appliances including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers and dryers
- Repairing, patching, seaming, and shampooing carpets as a backup carpet installer
- Driving and maintaining golf carts by maintaining batteries, switches, wiring, brakes, and tires while practicing safe driving habits
- Repairing and replacing windows, screens, doors, and locks
- Sealing with caulking or grouting windows, backsplashes, sinks and tubs
- Performing minor carpentry repairs, installing flooring, and maintaining shop inventory, equipment and vehicles
- Properly mixing chemicals for pools, cleaning, and maintaining pumps and heaters with required CPO certification
- Lifting heavy equipment, tools and materials using safe-lifting techniques
- Safely mixing and handling various chemicals
- Completing repairs that involve bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, crawling, reaching overhead, stretching, kneeling, upper/lower body movement and lifting, walking and standing
- Reporting lease infractions to management
- Climbing and working from a ladder
- Operating company golf carts
- Following safe workplace rules and practices
- Working regular shifts and additional hours as directed
- Performing other related tasks as needed
- Providing own personal dependable transportation and tools, maintaining valid drivers license and insurance with a good driving record
- Abiding by Fair Housing laws
