Job Qualifications
- High school degree, GED or equivalent
- Previous maintenance experience with handyman skills and knowledge in maintenance repairs
- Demonstrated proficiency and quality of advanced maintenance skills
- Ability to operate common office equipment and basic computer skills including mobile devices
- Ability to train and mentor others
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact positively with residents
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements
- Relevant certifications or licensure as dictated by business needs and applicable laws
Job Duties
- Complete assigned service requests related to repairs and upkeep of properties including heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, HVAC
- Recommend replacement or repair as necessary
- Ensure all work is professional and cleaned up before leaving residents homes
- Perform plumbing tasks including boiler, p-traps, garbage disposal, CPO license, soldering, and diagnostics
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents by addressing requests and concerns, making referrals as appropriate
- Demonstrate advanced mechanical knowledge including pump, heating and cooling systems, thermostat, and zone valve removal and replacement
- Change faceplates, outlets, GFIs up to 220v, breakers, testers and meters
- Prepare open apartment homes for rental within 24 to 72 hours, coordinating work with other staff or vendors
- Complete and document daily building inspections focusing on proactive maintenance
- Participate in on-call rotations during evenings, holidays, and weekends
