Job Requirements

Hotel or building maintenance experience required
supervisory experience required
valid driver's license
vehicle insurance
ability to communicate effectively in English
physical ability to lift/move heavy objects
ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
experience in hotel or building maintenance
supervisory experience
ability to read, write, and communicate in English
basic computer skills
knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair
valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
strong leadership and communication skills
ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
ability to work with little or no supervision

Job Duties

Ensures all required repairs and maintenance is performed on all hotel equipment and assets as scheduled or requested by guests, housekeeping, and management
maintains hotel grounds and building exterior
supervises all outside contractors to ensure they are fulfilling their contractual requirements
performs preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and assets per set schedule
performs daily walk through and records all meter readings and boiler temperatures
orders supplies and monitors the department budget
monitors all life safety systems and ensures compliance with corporate, brand standards, and all federal, state and local laws
hires, trains, supervises, coaches, and counsels team members
schedules team members considering guest arrivals and occupancy levels
maintains effective training programs
enforces proper grooming and dress code
ensures safe operations of engineering equipment and procedures
prepares and renders annual performance evaluations
ensures proper key control program
monitors work order volume and prioritizes assignments
provides written detail of work performed
records all maintenance requests
prepares weekly and monthly reports
informs front desk and housekeeping about work status
leads hotel safety committee
communicates with other departments about work needs
maintains a positive work atmosphere
knows hotel emergency procedures
assists guests in emergencies
facilitates emergency response and safety training
performs special projects and all other duties as assigned
