Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in housekeeping and laundry services in a resident-centered environment
  • Willingness to work with seniors
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work semi-independently
  • Compliance with health screenings, background checks, and vaccination requirements as applicable
  • If driving a Sunrise vehicle, understanding of driver safety protocols

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • Clean floors, rugs, carpets, and runners by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize, and hand shampoo furniture
  • Knock on residents’ doors before entering and respect privacy
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in a clean and orderly condition
  • Transport clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • Collect and remove trash and maintain trash receptacles
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and follow procedures for damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested
  • Respond to resident requests and feedback
  • Review and document pertinent resident information daily
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked
  • Keep equipment and hazards out of the way and comply with safety regulations
  • Promote risk management programs
  • Practice safety procedures including use of PPE and fire safety
  • Comply with infection control techniques
  • Participate as a team member and contribute to team goals
  • Attend meetings and maintain compliance with required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
