Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • vocational or technical background
  • at least 2 years hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • valid driver’s license
  • must meet state and federal certification and licensing requirements
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and climbing
  • must follow safety policies
  • completion of safety training and certifications
  • no supervisory experience required

Job Qualifications

  • at least 2 years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience
  • experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting
  • valid driver’s license
  • universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification
  • ability to train and mentor others
  • knowledge of engineering computer programs
  • proficiency in multiple engineering disciplines

Job Duties

  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests
  • communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues
  • perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment
  • visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • carry equipment such as tools and radios
  • identify and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and buildings
  • maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies
  • communicate activities and problems to other shifts
  • display proficiency in categories such as air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building management
  • use hand and power tools safely
  • repair or replace PVC and copper pipe
  • troubleshoot and repair equipment and plumbing
  • program TVs and perform housekeeping and engineering-related duties
  • assist with surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood trim repair
  • use Lockout/Tagout system during maintenance
  • operate engineering computer programs
  • perform mid-level troubleshooting of MEP systems
  • train and mentor other engineers
  • perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities
  • follow company safety policies
  • report maintenance problems and hazards
  • complete safety training
  • ensure professional appearance
  • maintain confidentiality
  • welcome and assist guests
  • adhere to quality standards
  • develop positive working relationships
  • speak professionally
  • perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, moving on stairs and ladders
  • enter and locate work-related information
  • perform other reasonable job duties as assigned
