Job Requirements
- maintain neat, clean, and businesslike appearance including clean uniform and grooming
- wear name tag at all times
- hairstyles must be appropriate and not extreme
- mustaches and beards allowed only if full and neatly trimmed
- wear black undershirt only
- avoid colored undershirts, sweatshirts, shoes, facial piercings/tattoos, excessive makeup, jewelry, or inappropriate dress
- comply with health and safety guidelines including proper use of personal protective equipment
- physically able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip
- able to work under mentally and physically stressful conditions
- able to respond to visual and aural cues
- able to work in hot and cold environments
- willing to work all shifts including weekends and holidays
- good personal hygiene and grooming standards
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years maintenance experience
- basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment
- knowledge of maintenance trades including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry
- computer literate
- ability to recognize and act upon safety hazards and security problems
- physically able to perform maintenance tasks including lifting up to 80 pounds and climbing ladders
- good communication skills in English
- experience with use of basic hand and power tools
Job Duties
- ensure complete guest satisfaction by treating guests in a friendly and helpful manner
- assist with preventative maintenance and complete work orders including replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl
- inspect guestrooms, public spaces, and back of the house areas to repair, touch up, or replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall covering, caulking, grouting, or other miscellaneous repairs
- perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical work using hand and power tools
- maintain building exterior and curb appeal including snow removal, lawn care, painting, and gardening
- investigate guest complaints and respond promptly
- participate in hotel Safety Committee including practicing and promoting safety standards
- maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities and assist in conducting operational audits
- work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and overnight as required
- support established policies and procedures of Winston Hospitality and hotel brand
- perform other duties as assigned by management
