Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in maintenance or custodial roles is beneficial
  • ability to operate floor scrubbers and basic janitorial equipment
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper use
  • strong attention to detail
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work in a physically demanding environment for an entire shift
  • ability to adapt quickly to changing work scenarios
  • commitment to maintaining safety standards

Job Duties

  • Maintaining safety of facility by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • performing safety sweeps
  • following proper forklift spotting procedures
  • handling and disposing of hazardous materials appropriately
  • correcting and reporting unsafe situations to management
  • cleaning all areas of the facility including floors, windows, restrooms, and trash receptacles using approved chemicals and equipment
  • responding promptly to spills
  • operating floor scrubbers
  • disposing of cardboard, plastic, and trash in line with the company environmental sustainability program
  • maintaining appropriate levels of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • rotating and storing chemicals properly
  • placing orders to replenish supplies when low
  • ensuring customers have a great first and last impression
  • maintaining a positive attitude throughout the shift
  • adhering to company steel standard guidelines
