Job Requirements

  • possession of a valid California driver’s license of the appropriate class
  • safe driving record free from serious violations within last two years
  • ability to work up to 189 days or 1500 hours in 12 consecutive months
  • completion of background check including Live Scan fingerprinting
  • physical capability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and outdoor manual labor
  • willingness to wear uniform and adhere to safety requirements
  • occasionally travel to other state park sites

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience in maintenance or custodial work is beneficial
  • valid California driver’s license
  • ability to operate light machinery and equipment
  • physical fitness to perform labor-intensive tasks
  • ability to work both independently and within a team
  • basic knowledge of safety standards and procedures

Job Duties

  • perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning restrooms and restocking supplies
  • litter pickup and grounds maintenance
  • operate gators, trucks, and small equipment for park maintenance
  • assist permanent park personnel with technical and difficult tasks
  • maintain state property including George J. Hatfield SRA and Great Valley Grasslands SP
  • follow safety protocols and wear required uniform
  • work weekends, holidays, and during special events as assigned
