  • working knowledge of simple maintenance work
  • working knowledge of cleaning supplies and their effects on construction and finishes

Job Duties

  • Cleans campus property such as offices, classrooms, corridors, walls, floors, windows, furniture, woodwork, toilets, lavatories or fixtures by washing, waxing, buffing, sweeping, polishing, dusting or vacuum cleaning
  • empties and cleans waste barrels, garbage cans and other receptacles
  • performs floor maintenance to protect finish
  • washes windows, woodwork, and restroom areas
  • loads and unloads trucks and moves furniture
  • operates cleaning equipment for floors and carpets
  • sets up rooms for meetings and events
  • locks and unlocks rooms as assigned
  • makes security checks on buildings and grounds
  • replaces light bulbs and cleans fixtures
  • reports maintenance or repair needs
  • keeps building adjacent areas clean
  • performs groundskeeping duties including leaf collection and snow removal
  • supports the teaching and learning process
  • collaborates with college departments
  • promotes diversity and inclusiveness
  • provides flexible and responsive service
  • performs other duties as assigned
