Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to lift loads of up to 32 kg (70 lbs) without assistance
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record
  • Customs seal subject to US Customs and Border Protection approval
  • Security clearances from USCBP and equivalent authorities
  • Mandatory use of safety shoes in service as per company rules
  • Use of hearing protection in designated high noise areas
  • Eligible to work in the country at the time of hire and possess all necessary permits or visas

  • Ability to use company automated freight tracking and accounting system after training
  • Commitment to wear company uniform as prescribed, adhering to established dress standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare and break down pallets, loading units and carts, and unload trucks
  • Store freight and COMAT on shelves, in bins, or designated areas, recording locations as needed
  • Respond to inquiries from the public, other carriers, agencies, and Air Canada staff
  • Handle manual or mechanical movement of freight, mail, and COMAT using equipment such as forklifts
  • Drive company vehicles
  • Accept and process shipments of hazardous or regulated materials according to company and government rules
  • Make necessary decisions in the absence of supervisors to ensure effective operation and protect company interests
