Job Requirements
- Must be between 18 and 24 years of age
- Available to work June 1st through July 31st, Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.
- Ability to lift fifty to seventy pounds
- Must pass a background check
- Willingness to comply with all food safety and sanitation standards
- Must be able to communicate clearly and work as part of a team
- Must be able to follow instructions and demonstrate professionalism
- Must agree to adhere to program schedules and protocols
Job Qualifications
- Ability to assist in food preparation and serving
- Basic understanding of nutrition and food safety
- Capability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety standards
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Prior experience in food service or related program is desirable but not required
- Ability to work during scheduled hours consistently
- Physical ability to lift up to seventy pounds
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
- Willingness to learn and develop skills relevant to food service and nutrition programs
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation of daily breakfast and lunch for summer lunch program
- Assist in developing and reviewing daily/weekly food service menu
- Assist in assembling and distributing nutritional meals as coordinated by Nutrition Coordinator
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation of service area
- Assist in organizing, sorting and labeling meals per site as required
- Understand nutritional needs of disadvantaged children
- Responsible for monitoring and reporting equipment malfunctions
- Responsible for understanding, adhering and preparing quality food based on the standards and procedures of temperature controls during food preparation
- Understand menus and pre-package distribution of foods
- Maintain high standards of sanitation in kitchen and serving areas
- Demonstrate positive and professional work habits
- Assume other job-related duties as requested
