Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- formal Medical Assistant program completion
- 0 to 3 years clinical experience
- preferred CMA or RMA certification
- some college preferred
- basic life support certification
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program
- 0 to 3 years of relevant clinical experience
- certified medical assistant (CMA) or registered medical assistant (RMA) preferred but not required
- some college preferred
- basic life support certification from the American Heart Association
- excellent communication and listening skills
- substantial interpersonal skills to work effectively with pediatric patients, families, physicians, nursing, and other healthcare personnel
Job Duties
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed
- administer intramuscular, subcutaneous injections, intradermal skin testing, topical medications, ophthalmic drops, and nasal sprays
- perform ECGs, place Holter monitors, and download telemetry data depending on location
- work with staff to maximize clinic flow
- intervene appropriately in emergency situations
- document data and changes in electronic medical records
- assist with administrative tasks including scheduling and patient check-in/check-out
- obtain patient measurements, history, and perform intake activities
- stock and maintain clinic supplies
- demonstrate knowledge and competency in chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization protocols
- direct high level disinfection scope cleaning if required
- complete healthcare provider CPR and other required trainings
- perform other assigned job functions
