Job Requirements

  • minimum age 18
  • culinary degree or equivalent combination of culinary training and/or experience
  • one or more years experience in front of house duties, banquet or event work, or related experience
  • experience in ordering, inventory management, and shrink control
  • ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • ability to work extended hours and rotating schedules
  • ability to safely maneuver around moving parts
  • frequently stand, walk, pivot
  • occasionally sit, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, twist, push, pull
  • frequently exposed to wet, cold conditions
  • occasional exposure to heat, ambient temperature, loud noise
  • ability to lift 80 lbs and manage heavier loads with team lift
  • ability to maintain positive attitude while multitasking

Job Qualifications

  • culinary degree or equivalent culinary training and experience
  • minimum of one year experience in front of house, banquet, or event work
  • proficiency in ordering, inventory management, and shrink control
  • working knowledge of food and beverage service
  • proficiency in H-E-B systems such as XPTR, DSD, IMS, CICS2, POS, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • advanced customer service and communication skills
  • strong planning and organizational abilities
  • culinary and food processing skills
  • leadership experience
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and evenings

Job Duties

  • create and consult on menus based on food knowledge and event specifics
  • train line and prep cooks to assist with catering orders
  • ensure compliance with government and company standards for freshness, safety, and sanitation
  • assist with purchasing and receiving tasks for the restaurant
  • prepare necessary paperwork including reports and schedules
  • manage financial operations and promotional materials
  • consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
  • obtain event-related specifications such as attendance and schedule
  • create quotes, prepare contracts, secure signatures, and collect deposits
  • review and modify upcoming event sheets
  • document final event arrangements and prepare schedules
  • supervise breakdown and cleanup after events
  • account for equipment and supplies
  • coordinate event-related services such as transportation and facilities
  • requisition equipment and supplies to meet event requirements
  • inspect event sites before functions
  • greet customers and manage staff during events
  • monitor compliance with regulations and customer satisfaction
  • handle return of rented materials
  • conduct post-event evaluations
  • perform other assigned duties
