Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • Culinary degree or equivalent culinary training and/or experience
  • At least 1 year experience in front of house or event-related roles
  • Experience with ordering, inventory management, and shrink control
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to work extended hours and rotating schedules
  • Ability to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to customer feedback
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and request assistance for heavier items
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, and noise

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent combination of culinary training and experience
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in front of house duties or banquet/event work
  • Comprehensive culinary and food prep knowledge
  • Working knowledge of food and beverage service
  • Proficiency with H-E-B systems such as XPTR, DSD, IMS, CICS2, POS, and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Advanced customer service and communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities
  • Culinary and food processing skills
  • Leadership and team direction capabilities
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • Business acumen and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Promote, price, plan, coordinate, and execute special event catering orders
  • Consult on menu creation based on food prep knowledge and event specifics
  • Train line and prep cooks to assist with catering orders
  • Ensure compliance with government and company regulations for food safety and sanitation
  • Assist in purchasing and receiving tasks for the restaurant facility
  • Prepare paperwork, reports, and schedules in a timely manner
  • Manage financial operations and promotional activities related to events
  • Consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
  • Create quotes, prepare contracts, collect deposits, and finalize arrangements
  • Supervise event setup, breakdown, and cleanup
  • Coordinate event-related services including transportation, signage, and special needs
  • Inspect event sites and supervise staff during functions
  • Monitor events for customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance
  • Solicit and promote special event business through advertising and cold-calling
  • Apply culinary knowledge to increase sales and suggest related products
  • Prepare and complete accurate billing and collect final payments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
