Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- Take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answer customer questions regarding products and assist them with selections
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- Slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- Assist in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Clean and sanitize display cases
- Operate and maintain equipment properly
- Comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- Comply with department and store operating procedures
- Record production and shrink to aid in production planning
- Assist in technical areas such as baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- Take care of service counter customers in deli
- Use ordering system applications
- Use fresh production planner
- Perform inventory management processes
- Ensure catering orders are prepared and ready in time for customer pickup
- Perform sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- Serve and package products at customer's request in prepared foods
- Educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- Prepackage condiments for prepared food items
- Cut, slice, dice, chop food in preparation for chef
