Lex Ship Services is a dedicated operational unit responsible for maintaining the USS Lexington CV-16, a historic aircraft carrier located in Corpus Christi, Texas. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum age of 18 years at hire
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to pass a physical examination
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable with climbing steep stairs
  • Ability to understand safety and weather protocols
  • Ability to direct visitors
  • Ability to attend regular safety meetings

Job Qualifications

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
  • Reliable means of transportation to and from worksite
  • Successful completion of a criminal background investigation
  • Successful completion of a drug screening test
  • Successful completion of a physical examination administered by a licensed medical physician verifying ability to perform job functions

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of approach way, admissions, tour routes, bathrooms, meeting rooms, berthing compartments, office areas, hanger bays, and flight deck
  • Perform event set-ups, upkeep of the ship, and groundskeeping
  • Follow a weekly schedule for normal work operations
  • Attend monthly safety meetings on proper equipment and chemical use
  • Assist Special Events with event settings and clean-up duties
  • Set up caution signs for visitors when needed
  • Direct visitors
  • Understand and implement Lexington's Safety Program
  • Understand and implement Lexington's Heavy Weather Plan
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or director
