Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing or certified Paramedic program
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working as a LPN/Paramedic in a medical environment
  • Valid registration as an LPN or Paramedic in the State of Ohio
  • Possession of current CPR Certification
  • Knowledge of the standard operating procedures of the Correctional Health Care Division
  • Knowledge of all emergency care procedures
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to assess potentially dangerous situations and take appropriate actions
  • Skill in the use of radio equipment
  • Knowledge of State Standards for Jails
  • Ability to make sound decisions under stressful conditions
  • Moderate physical effort including assisting disabled patients
  • Exposure to health risks such as body fluids and needles
  • Ability to stand and bend occasionally
  • Ability to handle moderate to high stress levels
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use office and medical equipment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assess patient needs as part of a healthcare team
  • Plan and modify patient care based on assessments
  • Implement clinical interventions accurately and timely
  • Follow all regulatory requirements and clinical orders
  • Provide emergency patient care as necessary
  • Use medical equipment properly and maintain it
  • Communicate effectively with health care team and security staff
