Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent
- graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program
- associates degree in nursing
- minimum of one year clinical nursing experience
- current Arkansas licensed practical nurse license
- current CPR certification
- ability to perform direct patient care
- ability to administer medications and start IV fluids
- effective communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- capability to perform physical activities related to nursing duties
- adherence to UAMS policies and Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas
- legal authority to work in the United States
- willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including criminal background check and drug testing
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent

- associates degree in nursing
- one year of work experience in clinical nursing
- current Arkansas Licensed Practical Nurse license

Job Duties
- Provide direct patient care within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas, UAMS policies, procedures, and standards
- adhere to UAMS care guidelines
- observe, chart, and report changes in patients' conditions
- provide basic care and treatment of patients
- administer prescribed medications and start intravenous fluids
- measure and record vital signs
- assist patients in standing, walking, bathing, dressing, and moving in bed
- supervise nurses' aides and assistants
- answer patient calls and determine assistance needed
- collect samples such as blood, urine, and sputum
- perform routine laboratory tests
- clean rooms and make beds
- inventory and requisition supplies and instruments
- record food and fluid intake and output
- model the Core Values of UAMS - Integrity, Respect, Diversity, Teamwork, Creativity, and Excellence
- perform related responsibilities as assigned
