Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in dining room/lounge service and food preparation preferred
- prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred
- requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
- has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population
- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime to meet the requirements of the position
- ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other community staff
- ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management
- maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
- ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- current first aid and CPR
- pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
- meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations
- ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- maintains current food handlers card

Job Duties
- provides a great experience for all residents and guests in the lounge
- ensure that all food and beverage venues in the lounge are clean and well maintained for all aspects of service including tables and chairs that are set in a uniform and consistent manner
- ensure that all residents and guests are greeted promptly as they enter the lounge area
- provide excellent and timely customer service to all residents and guests
- conduct pre-open review including daily menu and specials, personal presentation, inventory stock readiness, residents special needs and concerns, and daily service training points
- prepare food items and serve food to residents within scheduled timeframe
- follow menu cycle, noting changes or substitutions made on proper form
- clean and maintain a neat, safe working environment including the kitchen and food service areas
- comply with state sanitation codes
- maintain inventory control, place food/supply orders with kitchen, verify items received and restock lounge supply shelves/closet
- report problems, concerns, issues observed with food or beverage service
- observe and communicate changes in resident status, needs or preferences
- record resident information as required
- avoid loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment
- adhere to fire, life, safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures
- support dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and home-like environment philosophy for residents
- maintain quality of food prepared and sample food to ensure quality
- attend and participate in required meetings and trainings
- perform other duties as assigned
