Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurance if applicable
  • Flexibility to work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must wear clean uniform and name tag
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Compliance with hotel rules and regulations
  • Ability to work safely and responsibly in a hospitality environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in bartending or beverage service preferred
  • Knowledge of hospitality and customer service principles
  • Ability to mix drinks according to standardized recipes without free pouring
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Basic knowledge of local area and hotel services
  • Ability to follow safety and hygiene standards

Job Duties

  • Set up bar, unlock liquor, prepare glassware, juices and garnish
  • Accept drink orders in proper calling order to keep service at the bar at optimum level of service
  • Make and serve drinks to guests
  • Follow all procedures and policies regarding beverage controls as prescribed by standards
  • Ensure all drinks are rung up properly
  • Be fully responsible and accountable for an issued bank
  • Fill out liquor requisitions and supply list
  • Follow proper procedures for ringing guest checks and cash collecting procedures
  • Make sure established pars are maintained
  • Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules
  • Keep all bar areas neat and clean
  • Observe Clean-As-You-Go policy
  • Pick-up your bank and guest checks for prescribed area
  • Set up your bar
  • Break down bar, lock up liquor, and store fruit and juices properly
  • Make cocktails in accordance with beverage standards using the Berg system, standard jigger as applicable with no free pouring
  • Attend department meetings
  • Work safely at all times
  • Be flexible in regard to work schedule
  • Report to work on time and in proper and clean uniform, including name tag
  • Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules and standards
  • Conform to cash handling procedures at all times
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, up to date with changes, new procedures and events
  • Have knowledge about guest rooms, locations, amenities, features and all other services offered by the hotel
  • Assist fellow associates in their jobs to improve daily operations
  • Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them
  • Have knowledge about the city, local area and attractions to provide guests with requested information
  • When leaving the bar area, lock your bank so cash is secured
  • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager
  • Greet all guests immediately and offer assistance proactively
  • Be aware of current guest service scores and actively participate in achieving hotel goals
  • Must have a valid drivers license, proof of insurance and pass as approved driver if applicable
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
