Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or bartending role preferred
  • Knowledge of beverage controls and policies
  • Ability to handle cash responsibly
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, crouching and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Flexible availability to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work safely and comply with hotel rules and regulations
  • Must present a clean and proper uniform with name tag
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if applicable

  • Knowledge of beverage preparation and serving standards
  • Experience in bartending or a similar role
  • Ability to follow strict beverage control policies
  • Cash handling experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and guest service protocols
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Understanding of emergency procedures
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if applicable

Job Duties

  • Set up bar, unlock liquor, prepare glassware, juices and garnish
  • Accept drink orders in proper calling order to keep service at the bar at optimum level of service for guests
  • Make and serve drinks to guests
  • Follow all procedures and policies regarding beverage controls as prescribed by standards
  • Ensure all drinks are rung up properly
  • Be fully responsible and accountable for an issued bank
  • Fill out liquor requisitions and supply list
  • Follow proper procedures for ringing guest checks and cash collecting procedures
  • Make sure established pars are maintained
  • Perform all side work duties according to side work schedules
  • Keep all bar areas neat and clean
  • Observe Clean-As-You-Go policy
  • Pick up your bank and guest checks for prescribed area
  • Set up your bar
  • Break down bar, lock up liquor, and store fruit and juices properly
  • Make cocktails in accordance with beverage standards using the Berg system and standard jigger
  • Attend department meetings
  • Work safely at all times
  • Be flexible in regard to work schedule
  • Report to work on time and in proper and clean uniform including name tag
  • Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules and standards
  • Conform to cash handling procedures at all times
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations and stay up to date with all changes and new procedures
  • Have knowledge about guest rooms, locations, amenities, features and all other services offered by the hotel
  • Assist fellow associates in their jobs when able to improve daily operations of the hotel
  • Have knowledge about all emergency procedures and know how to act on them
  • Have knowledge about the city, local area and attractions to provide guests with requested information
  • Lock bank when leaving bar area
  • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager
  • Greet all guests immediately and offer assistance before the guest asks
  • Be aware of current guest service scores and understand guest comments and needs
  • Be an active participant in achieving the GSS goals of the hotel
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
