Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven experience in export freight forwarding
  • familiarity with perishable frozen seafood shipments
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work under pressure

  • Experience in freight forwarding and export procedures

Job Duties

  • Work with freight forwarders on perishable frozen container shipments and their requirements
  • prepare commercial invoices
  • obtain vessel insurance
  • monitor cargo
  • liaise with government agencies for documentation in complex transactions
  • study and document transaction related costs
  • coordinate with trucking companies for loading, labeling, and drayage
  • manage relationships with customs brokers
  • understand and process letters of credit and credit forms
  • negotiate with steamship lines regarding rate contracts, demurrage, and terms
