- College degree preferred
- previous experience in sales or marketing
- ability to sit for extended periods of time
- manual dexterity for data entry, stooping, bending for filing
- good listening and speaking ability
- computer literacy including Windows and Excel
- self-motivated with negotiation skills
- facility with handling a fast-paced work environment

- proficiency in Windows and Excel or similar programs
Job Duties
- Drive daily and weekly load count, revenue and margin goals for a specific region
- develop current carrier base for consistent lane specific volumes
- negotiate pricing and solicit business from existing customers to secure freight for contracted carriers
- work directly with sales and management to assist in developing pricing for larger customers
- monitor EDI system for available freight and ensure correct reason codes for rejected shipments
- act as a mentor for new employees and assist in training as needed
- identify new traffic lanes for potential growth
- verify all carriers meet company safety standards
- meet departmental and personal profit margin goals
- travel up to 10 percent of scheduled time
- work independently and as a cohesive team member to maximize profitability
- perform other duties as assigned
