Job Requirements
- High School Graduate
- 1-2 years of industry related experience in supply chain, logistics, and/or transportation
- responsible for interpretation and application of company policies, programs and mission/vision/values
- good written and verbal communication skills
- excellent problem solving and reasoning skills
- time management/prioritization and follow-up skills
- accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- transportation industry knowledge
- experience with Transportation Management System (TMS)
- excellent problem solving and reasoning skills
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to work in an ERP environment preferred
- experience with Roadnet preferred
- ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public
- ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Job Duties
- Utilizes Transportation Management System to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling
- aids in the optimization of company fleet and drivers to maximize efficiency of company owned vehicles
- schedules, directs, and resolves activities related to dispatching, routing, or tracking transportation vehicles to ensure scheduled pickup and delivery
- communicates schedule information and planning to vendors, branch operations carriers and drivers
- ensures carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for material movement
- participate in work teams, including ones where contributions are made to the refinement of procedures and company policies
- maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for all department activity
- investigates root causes and work with cross-functional areas to provide recommendations for logistic operations improvement
- monitor and maintain existing Logistics and Transportation network while working with the Logistics Director on efficiencies to drive improved service and reduced cost
- maintain freight claims
- file management of contracts, leases, insurance certificates, and other documents that pertain to transportation and logistics
