Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- prior logistical or planning experience
- ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays
- capability of hearing, speaking, reading, and writing English well
- capable of sitting for extended periods and working with computer equipment
- physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- ability to multitask and manage frequent interruptions
- ability to work professionally under challenging conditions
- willingness to travel occasionally by air or car
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work with office equipment and computers
- familiar with Microsoft Office suite
- proficient with Excel and reporting tools
- excellent interpersonal skills with drivers, personnel, customers, and management
- excellent oral and written communication skills
- strong geographical knowledge
- understanding of transportation regulations
- previous logistical or planning experience
- transportation or logistics industry experience preferred
- high school diploma or GED
Job Duties
- Build and match planned freight to day cabs or condo trucks and drivers
- plan coordination of trainers and trainees needs for hours and home time in a dedicated training environment
- review PTAs and driver requests for time off or home time for same-day or next-day dispatching
- schedule work and assign tasks to drivers
- coordinate with department personnel to monitor driver, freight, and asset availability
- identify and report driver support or disciplinary needs
- coordinate with Maintenance for truck service status and dispatch planning
- plan for future freight based on customer availability
- track drivers, loads, and receivers to ensure dispatch operations
- coordinate backhauls in Dedicated environment
- maintain frequent contact with drivers to monitor call-offs, fatigue, and equipment issues
- ensure trainee progress and team driver load appropriateness
- monitor Hours of Service compliance
- route trucks or solo drivers efficiently in a training environment
- handle urgent situations affecting on-time delivery
- assist new driver orientation to fleet protocols
- manage special scheduling needs with supervisor coordination
