Job Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program
  • Summer pre-registration exception applies only if pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number
  • Remain in valid visa status as applicable
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA or first semester student
  • Federal Work Study eligibility may apply
  • In good disciplinary standing
  • Must be located in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking program
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with sound equipment and mixing
  • Basic software skills for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Professionalism and maturity
  • Adaptability under pressure
  • Experience in administrative or office settings preferred
  • Live sound mixing and production experience preferred
  • Familiarity with music genres and recording techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of concert production planning preferred

Job Duties

  • Basic office assistant/receptionist work such as answering phones, emails, filing, photocopying, and running errands
  • Reserving conference rooms at the college for staff and faculty using event management software
  • Setting up, supervising, breaking down, and inventorying concert equipment including amps, PAs, mixers, microphones, keyboards, cables
  • Meeting with artists/managers to plan, produce, and engineer Loft concerts
  • Sound engineering 1-2 student and faculty Loft concerts per week including setting up equipment, running sound checks, live mixing, improvising technical solutions, supervising shows
  • Providing technical support and assistance with concert equipment and conference room technology
  • Availability during business hours and evenings for Loft shows
  • Assisting with event coverage at high-profile events including greeting guests, working check-in tables, and assisting with last minute details
  • Participating in the annual Gala and Commencement events including some after-hours work
