USTA New England Section is a vital and passionate part of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), which stands as the national governing body for tennis in the United States. This 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization serves approximately 22,500 members across six states in the New England region: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Job Requirements
- Must live in the New England Section
- must be able to work some flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in recreational sports program coordination preferred
- proficiency with technology platforms such as Google Drive and Microsoft Office
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- experience in customer service and conflict resolution
- knowledge of tennis league administration or willingness to learn
- ability to travel locally for facility visits and events
- comfortable using data to drive decisions
- able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- proficiency with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite
- prior experience with Excel or Google Sheets
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- experience in customer service
- ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and staff
- problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- knowledge of project coordination and event management principles
- familiarity with TennisLink and tennis is preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- strong organizational and analytical skills.
Job Duties
- Demonstrate commitment to USTA New England's purpose, mission, and values
- promote and administer recreational adult league tennis programs
- coordinate and attend meetings with volunteer committees, team captains, community members, and tennis providers
- manage team and player registration
- communicate with facilities regarding availability and schedule matches
- ensure compliance with local procedures and organizational regulations
- resolve conflicts among participants and escalate issues as necessary
- communicate and confirm team participation for post-season play
- monitor program platforms for compliance and address violations
- verify eligibility, site availability, and compliance with policies
- conduct meetings with team captains
- assist players in team placement and formation
- provide customer service to internal and external customers
- collaborate with departments and volunteer committees
- support current and recruit new volunteer captains
- make recommendations on program operation procedures
- coordinate local marketing plans with the Marketing Department
- build relationships with partners, players, and facilities
- administer opportunities for new and returning players
- identify and resolve local league issues
- report progress and issues to leadership
- build relationships with other LLCs, staff, and volunteers
- ensure best practices and accurate information delivery
- assist in data collection and analysis for program growth
- create and evaluate participation surveys and provide insights
- support annual budget process with supervisor
- assist in championship event hosting
- perform other related duties as assigned.
