Job Requirements

  • College degree preferred
  • minimum 3-5 years experience in sales, account management or operations in freight forwarding, logistics or transportation industry
  • proficiency with CRM systems
  • excellent organizational and communication skills
  • valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams

  • Minimum of 3-5 years successful sales, account management or operations experience in freight forwarding, logistics and/or transportation industry

Job Duties

  • Manages the local business (commercial) relationship for each assigned client
  • identification of possible business at risk
  • identification of new client opportunities
  • SOP (standard operating procedures) creation, review and sign-off with relevant stakeholders and final distribution
  • report creation, monitoring and distribution as required for each assigned client
  • conducts monthly business reviews (MBRs) with each assigned client to review operational performance and KPI metrics
  • communicates feedback from MBRs to local operations and account management teams
  • holds quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
  • manages operational escalations according to client SOPs
  • oversees finance (accounts receivable, DSO) escalations per client SOP
  • coordinates spot quote requests ensuring timely response, with involvement in exceptions related to complex or high-value shipments
  • only intervenes in escalations after local branch efforts are exhausted
  • ensures all types of escalations are defined within client SOPs and agreed with local operations
  • develops and maintains account profiles for assigned clients
  • develops, shares and executes strategic development strategies aligned with regional and global account teams
  • creates continuous improvement project plans annually for each client
  • ensures alignment and collaboration with global, regional and national account team members on account strategy and responsibilities
  • participates actively in tender processes, implementation, and client regional QBRs
  • manages accounts receivable balances and escalates as necessary
  • schedules and conducts at least eight customer meetings per month with formalized agendas and action items
  • holds two local account sponsor meetings per year per client
  • provides monthly local account details to national or regional account managers
  • maintains compliance with company and federal regulations
