Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have or obtain a current food handler’s permit within 30 days of employment
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, talk, hear, taste or smell regularly
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and frequently lift up to 100 pounds
- Open availability to work five days per week including weekends and holidays
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting environmental programs and sustainability initiatives
- Compliance with dress code and personal appearance policy
- Willingness to follow supervisory directions and complete assigned duties timely
Job Qualifications
- Three months to one year of experience cooking in a comparable establishment
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good working knowledge of fresh seasonal produce, meat and poultry preparation for cooking
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings
- English communication skills sufficient to communicate with co-workers
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations
Job Duties
- Read and follow directions on the daily prep list
- Prepare foods in the correct quantity and preparation style as shown by a supervisor
- Properly season and taste food preparation to meet set standards
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Organize and store food deliveries daily
- Follow directions of supervisor
- Work solo or with a team
- Use basic knife skills and proper food handling techniques
- Read and follow basic recipe directions
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stove, oven, fryer, blender, and mixer
- Properly label and date food preparation using FIFO
- Store prepared food in correct locations
- Follow proper cleaning procedures for kitchen equipment
- Support recycling of metal and plastic
- Minimize food waste in preparation
- Clean kitchen prep areas thoroughly before checkout
- Assist in Employee Café or other food outlets as directed
- Contribute to a positive work environment
- Embrace and promote Sundance’s guiding principles and service standards
- Exhibit job and product knowledge to support all Sundance departments and amenities
- Be flexible to meet business demands and work well under pressure
- Manage time appropriately and meet deadlines
- Provide excellent service to internal and external guests
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
- Keep information confidential
- Support and comply with all company policies and standards
