Job Requirements

  • Must be in full communion with the Catholic Church
  • strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church
  • experience in preparation and celebration of Roman Catholic liturgy
  • preferred Bachelor's degree in religious or liturgical studies or 5 years equivalent experience
  • punctuality and ability to travel locally
  • work schedule flexibility for weekends, evenings, and overtime
  • ability to lift and handle physical tasks
  • bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of the Diocese and Catholic Church mission
  • working knowledge of the Liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church and traditions
  • excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
  • self-starter with organizational and multitasking abilities
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • proficiency in computer technology including Microsoft Office, email, and other media
  • professional bearing and neat personal appearance
  • ability to successfully pass background, criminal history, and credit checks

Job Duties

  • Perform as a lay ecclesial minister in support of the parish's spiritual and pastoral mission
  • abide by Catholic principles in professional and private life
  • responsible for implementing the liturgical services of the parish
  • work with the Liturgical Consultant and Music Director to prepare weekly liturgical materials for regular and special events
  • prepare and coordinate monthly schedules with staff and volunteers to ensure minister coverage for all Masses
  • coordinate with and assist liturgical staff and volunteers in the physical set-up of the sanctuary for regular and special events
  • assist in the liturgical ministries' formation programs and ministerial spiritual days of prayer
  • maintain open communication with all staff and lay ministers
  • perform other duties as assigned
