Job Requirements

  • No prior experience required
  • ability to work 35 plus hours per week
  • valid state driver’s license
  • ability to obtain necessary food handling certifications
  • willingness to obtain NHG housekeeping certification within six months of employment
  • ability to maintain safe work practices and follow protocols
  • ability to travel to other lodging facilities
  • ability to handle physical demands of housekeeping tasks

Job Duties

  • Oversee and pass on instructions from supervisor to housekeeping attendants
  • assist in training new associates and answer questions regarding policies and procedures
  • ensure work schedules are adhered to, inform supervisor of work status, assignments, and problem areas
  • train and demonstrate proper work methods and procedures
  • implement the most efficient and economical cleaning methods
  • ensure availability of required cleaning materials and linens
  • perform housekeeping duties including cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, exterior spaces
  • conduct daily inspections of rooms, carts, common areas, and laundry facilities and maintain written documentation
  • maintain security of guest privacy and storeroom items
  • determine and place orders for cleaning supplies and amenities
  • ensure equipment is maintained and accounted for
  • issue supplies and perform inventory as required
  • handle guest and staff complaints tactfully and refer difficult issues to supervisor
  • assist with set-up and clean-up of self-service breakfast bar and obtain necessary food handling certifications
  • maintain a clean and safe environment following all safety protocols
  • perform and inspect laundry operations
  • travel to other lodging facilities as required
  • maintain operations during emergencies or supervisor absence
  • obtain NHG housekeeping certification within six months of employment
