Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort including moving furniture and using cleaning equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and supervisors
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications within 6 months
  • Availability to work part-time 20 to 34.5 hours per week
  • Ability to adhere to safety and security protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to operate manual and powered cleaning equipment
  • Strong communication and guest service skills
  • Ability to work under moderate physical effort
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping protocols
  • Willingness to obtain food handling certification
  • Ability to work part-time hours

Job Duties

  • Cleans guest rooms and other assigned areas
  • Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, waxer, and polisher
  • Empties wastebaskets, dusts, waxes, and polishes room furniture
  • Washes walls, partitions, air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilets and lavatories
  • Changes light bulbs and room partitions
  • Moves furniture to clean under and behind
  • Cleans bathroom and kitchen areas thoroughly
  • Cleans iron and ironing board
  • Ensures proper function and cleanliness of luggage racks, TVs, alarm clocks, and phones
  • Places proper number of amenities in room
  • Changes bed linen and inspects mattresses
  • Greets and welcomes guests while maintaining outstanding guest relations
  • Ensures privacy and security of guests
  • Cleans and maintains corridors, stairways, patios, balconies, and shampoo carpets
  • Performs deep cleaning and scheduled carpet cleaning
  • Maintains storage rooms
  • Communicates room status to supervisor
  • Accomplishes minor repairs and reports major needs
  • Cleans exterior spaces
  • Assists with receipt and organization of supplies and merchandise
  • Responsible for pass keys
  • Reports unusual circumstances to supervisor
  • Handles lost and found items
  • Assists with setup and cleanup of self-service breakfast bar
  • Completes required safety and security training
  • Maintains clean and safe environment
  • Performs laundry operations
  • May travel to other lodging facilities
  • May obtain housekeeping certification
