Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior kitchen or food preparation experience
  • Ability to adhere to food safety regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Capability to perform physical tasks involved in kitchen work
  • Flexible availability to accommodate shift schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Held a job position for more than 3 months
  • Kitchen experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and customers
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Experience in supervising student workers or dishwashers
  • Ability to manage inventory and reduce waste
  • Maintain high sanitation and cleaning standards

Job Duties

  • Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
  • Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
  • Trains and guides student workers
  • Assists chefs with catering and banquet preparation as needed
  • Closes and cleans the kitchen at the end of each shift
