Hillcrest Linen Service Department, situated in the vibrant city of San Diego, CA, is an integral part of the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego) Health system. Job Requirements
- Knowledge or experience working in an area of lifting, carrying and cleaning environment
- Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate orally in English
- Must be able to write legibly and compute basic addition and subtraction
- Entry level computer knowledge and skills
- Must wear protective clothing as required
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience working in an area of lifting, carrying and cleaning environment
- Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate orally in English
- Must be able to write legibly and compute basic addition and subtraction
- Entry level computer knowledge and skills
- Prior experience working in an environmental service or linen department
- Experience with vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and general cleaning procedures in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of acceptable practices and procedures under Title 22 - State of California cleanliness of laundry
Job Duties
- Distribute clean linen to all departments in need
- Fold and consolidate clean linen
- Order and stamp clean linen
- Maintain log and records for distribution of new linen
- Receive and distribute lab coats for medical staff
- Maintain linen room in clean order
- Load soiled linen into carts
