Job Requirements

  • Must wear uniform and comply with all departmental work rules
  • Must have knowledge of all department policies and procedures
  • Must be willing to assist in the event of an emergency at the facility
  • Must be prepared to respond to disaster and emergency situations
  • Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness
  • Able to bend stoop carry kneel push pull and lift
  • Able to lift heavy packages of linen
  • Able to push loaded carts of up to 80 pounds
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle

Job Qualifications

  • Adequate written and oral English language skills
  • Ability to take directions and carry out assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned duties without constant supervision
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures
  • Willingness to assist in emergencies
  • Completion of training in disaster preparedness
  • Ability to work all shifts in a 24 hours 7 days per week operation
  • Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Job Duties

  • Receive clean linen from the laundry contractor
  • Collect soiled linen from designated pickup points at scheduled times
  • Distribute clean linen to designated rooms or areas at scheduled times
  • Fill orders and deliver clean linen to user sections throughout the facilities
  • Mark new linen with government furnished labels
  • Keep the linen room clean and well organized
  • Participate in linen inventories
  • Perform other duties as assigned
